Our Design Service
At Harvey’s Select we’re more than a little obsessive about the design process. Whether it’s a statement kitchen, a contemporary bathroom or a sumptuous bedroom, design affects every single element of the project.
From choosing the collection, and understanding how colours complement different surfaces through to choosing the finishing touches, it is the clarity of design that enables us to work with you to create your perfect room, as individual as you are.
Step 1 – Exploring your options
Whether you’ve looked through one of our brochures or explored our website you’ll already know which room you’re looking to update and, will likely have an idea which collections or styles you’re considering.
The next step is to discuss your project with one of our experienced designers. You can start by calling us on 0117 956 1381, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or better still, drop into our brand new showroom just 2 minutes from J14 of the M5 Motorway, in the beautiful setting of Tortworth. Our showroom has more than 20 full room sets where you can experience the quality and craftsmanship that go into every single one of our rooms.
Step 2 – Consultation
As a next step we recommend coming in for a complimentary consultation. This is a chance for us to get to know you better, understand how you wish to use your room and look at your options in more detail. This is very often an inspirational meeting – by telling us your vision for your room our experience can help you to realise your ambitions.
Seeing the collections in person is essential. Photos give an indication of shape and style but the ability to feel the material – whether it’s wood, stone or metal – and see it in situ will help you to choose exactly what you want.
The consultation is a critical stage of the process, which is why we advise getting in touch to arrange an appointment so that we can spend as much time discussing your project as you need. We generally advise a 90 minute meeting but should you need longer we’ll happily accommodate you.
Step 3 – Bespoke Design
Following an initial discussion, we offer a free complimentary consultation to understand what it is you’re looking to achieve. If you’re happy to progress with the project we visit your home to see the room in question. This allows us to get a better understanding of the space, identify any previously unseen challenges and assess how natural light will affect the room. The visit also enables us to see your room in context – knowing what other rooms or spaces are adjacent to the project room ensures we consider movement through the room and the home as a whole, as well as taking into account the more practical aspects of where things need to go.
Armed with the knowledge of your chosen collection and range, as well as your preferences on materials, colour and finishes, our designer will then begin the exciting process of bringing your room to life.
Once they have finished the designs, you’ll be invited in to our showroom to discuss the designs and the quotation in more detail. There’s no cost to you for any of this work, though should you wish for a fee £300 we can provide you with the design and quotation details bound together in a stunning hardwood presenter to take away with you, the cost of which is reimbursed if you choose us to carry out the project for you.
This unique, personalised, wood-bound presenter will combine your project summary, quotation and much more besides. It’ll include a plan view of the room as well as side elevations and a number of colour visuals in 3D so you get a complete understanding of how the space will be used. There will be detailed notes about individual items, including all measurements, finishes and detailing.
In addition there will be a ‘mood board’ supplied, to give a fuller flavour of the project – picking out individual textures, materials and tones, to show how the different elements will work together. The whole always being greater than the sum of its parts.
Once you give us the go ahead you’ll work with the designer to hone the design, making changes and tweaks as necessary until it’s to your satisfaction. We never forget that it’s your project, and we want you to be completely happy at the end of the process, which is why we value your input at every stage. It’s then just a matter of creating a schedule, confirming dates and sorting out the deposit before the installation begins!
Step 4 – The Installation
Depending on which room you’re having done the lead time for production can be anything from a few weeks to two months for bespoke kitchens, as the units may need to be made specifically for your project, and any appliances will need to come from the suppliers.
We’ll keep you informed on the timescales and give you a definitive date for delivery as soon as we know. If we’re carrying out the installation for you, our experienced team will arrive promptly and begin work on the project.
Depending on the scale of the project we’ll update you on the schedule as we go along so you know when things will be finished. Our designer and installation supervisor will be on hand to ensure that everything is as it should be and to answer any queries you might have.
Our rooms are the result of collaborative design, meticulous planning and unbeatable craftsmanship and we firmly believe that quality items should be carefully handled.
Step 5 – Satisfaction… Guaranteed
We take pride in every customer project and installation we carry out, which is why we don’t consider any job complete until you’re totally happy with our work. We’ll contact you shortly after our installation team have finished to ensure that everything is to your satisfaction and, if any remedial work is required we’ll arrange to come and put things right.
